The route is challenging, crossing the Atina Equestrian Centre and then continuing along the banks of the River Melfa to Ponte Romano, where the climb to Casalattico begins. From here the route continues uphill to Mortale and then to Montattico along a road with almost no traffic, offering breathtaking views over the Comino Valley. At Montattico the panorama opens out onto the wild Gole del Melfa and the astronomical observatory is in a dominant position. The route continues uphill towards Campo del Popolo, where the view dominates the Valle del Rapido.
